Each character has a specific legendary weapon that can be acquired by using the Celestial Mirror. When each weapon is first acquired, it will be equipped with the No AP ability. To remove this ability and unlock the weapon's full potential, you need to find two specific event items (Crest and sigils) for each caracter. Upon doing so, you must then return to the Malacania Woods and use the Celestial Mirror to power up the weapon at the large spherical crystal high amid the treetops. The names, locations and items needed to power up the legendary weapons are listed below.

Note:
In FFX International version, some characters may need a different sigils to power up their weapon. Rikku, for example, needs the Venus Crest in the International Version (instead of the Mercury Crest).

Ultimate Weapons

Tidus - Caladbolg

To acquire Tidus's legendary weapon, you must race and defeat the chocobo trainer in the Calm Lands. After winning the race, walk to the upper northwest section of calm lands. The guard blocking a narrow pathway down into the gorge will have left his post, allowing you to pass. Tidus will then be able to use the celestial mirror to acquire Caladbolg.

Items Required:
- Sun Crest - Zanarkand Dome, where you fought Yunalesca.
- Sun Sigil - Race the chocobo trainer in the calms land, and finish with a time of 0-0-0.

Yuna - Nirvana

To Acquire Yuna's legendary weapon, you must capture all nine types of fiends in the calm lands region. After collecting them all, return to the monster arena owner. He will produce a treasure chest containing the weapon.

Items Required:
- Moon Crest - Besaid Isle - Beach
- Moon Sigil - Defeat every one of Belgemime's Aeon at remiem temple.

Tips - How to beat the summon - EASY:
Belgemime's summon only has about 30,000 HP, so if you have Anima and have leveled up Yuna's stats enough, Anima's Overdrive (Oblivion) should kill it in just 1 hit. When you fight Anima, use the Magus Sister's Overdrive. Again, if you have leveled up Yuna's stats before, one overdrive should be enough to kill it.

Auron - Masamune

To acquire Auron's legendary weapon, you must first acquire the rusty sword found on the eastern cliff of the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth in the Calm Lands. Take it to the statue of Lord Mi'hen on the Mushroom Rock Road. Access this area used to be prevented by Clasko. Place the Rusty sword before the statue to reveal a gylph. Touch it to reveal Auron's Masamune.

Items Required:
- Mars Crest - Mi'hen Highroad - Oldroad, south
- Mars Sigil - Capture 10 monsters of 10 different species in 10 different regions.

Wakka - World Champion

Items required:
- Jupiter Crest - Luca; inside locker in the Auroch's locker room
- Jupiter Sigil - Offered as a prize in blitzball league matches, but only after wakka has the attack reels, status reels and Auroch reels.

Kimahri - Spirit Lance

To acquire Kimahri's legendary weapon, the Spirit Lance, you must activate three of the Quactuar stones on the thunder plains. Stand at any stone and press [SQUARE] to see a spirit of a Quactar released. After activating three stones, find the Quactar ghost flying just above the ground at Thunder plains (south), and follow it to a small ruined lighting tower on the right side. Press Square to send a bolt of ligthing to the tower, revealing a treasure chest holding the item.

For more details,follow the step by step instruction below :

+ There's 3 section at the thunder plains : 1 is the south one,2 is the Traveller's inn (with a shop), 3 is the north one,with a save point.
+ At the first screen of the thunder plains (the south one),search for 2 glowing cactuar stone
+ Pray there (using the SQUARE button)
+ Head into the next screen (After the Traveller's Inn)
+ There's a lot of glowing stone here,and you only have to pray at one of the stone,BUT you can only pray there when the stone is glowing.
+ After you have prayed in at least three statues,go back to the first screen.
+ If you LOOK closely,you can found a cactuar following you.It's hard to see,but it's really there.
+ Now,go to the X spot (marked with the red color) on THIS IMAGE,you can find a small tower there.
+ Pray there and you'll get a treasure chest.You can only open it after you get Celestial Mirror.Open it to get the ULTIMATE weapon for Kihmari

Items Required:
- Saturn Crest - MT.Gagazet, colums after Seymour battle.
- Saturn Sigil - Capture all the blue butterflies without touching any red ones in the butterfly hunt game in Malacania Woods. Click here for more details.

Lulu - Onion Knight

To acquire Lulu's legendary weapon, return to Baaj temple (where Tidus first woke up) and dive underwater. Swim towards the doors to the north and fight Geosgaeno. After you beat it, search the southern part of the circular underwater area and look for a treasure chest containing the weapon.

Items required:
- Venus Crest - After getting the airship, go back to the Farplane at Guadosalam.
- Venus Sigil - Must evade the ligthing on Thunder plains 200 consecutive times without being hit. Return to the front of the travel agency and open the chest there. Click here for more details.

Rikku - Godhand

To acquire Rikku's legendary weapon, Godhand, you must input the airship password GODHAND to open a secret location at Mushroom Rock. Move north to the end of this ravine and use the Celestial Mirror on the symbol embedded in the rock face.

Items required:
- Mercury Crest - In a sand whirlpool in Sanubia Desert.
- Mercury Sigil - Complete the village of cactuars sidequest and look for a treasure chest in the sandstorm area. See below for more details.

Cactuar Village Sidequest.
+ There's 4 screen at Sanubia desert:
1 is the screen with oasis, 2 is the screen with a save point below a tent, 3 is a huge open area with save point, and 4 is a screen with a cactuar stone in the north east. First, check the cactuar stone.
+ After that, you must find the cactuar in the areas listed below.

1) Tomay - It's near the Oasis at the 1st screen.
2) Rovivea - It's running around on the north western area, on the 2nd screen.
3) Chava - It's hiding behind the Al Bhed 20% sign in the 4th screen. Examine it
4 & 5) Alek & Aloja - It's running around the ruins in the north western area, on the the 3rd screen.
6) Vachella - Examine the Save point in the 2nd screen.
7) Robeya - Open the treasure chest in the south western area, on the 3rd screen. It's hiding there.
8) Isrra - Running around the ant lion pit, in the 4th screen. If you can't found it, just simply leave the screen and come back there, he'll appears eventually.
9) Elio - Go to the oasis, and follow it to the airship. Go to the top of the airship (where you fight dragon boss before) and you'll find it there.
10) Flaile - No need to search, he'll appear automatically

What you have to do here:
- You need to STOP when a message box with a "NEEDLE TIME" text shows up. When I say STOP, I mean don't move at all, don't press your controller buttons. When the message gone and the cactuar turn its back again, just continue on and get it. When you encounter a battle, just kill it. Don't forget to equip capture ability, so you don't have to search around for 10 cactuars to complete the monster arena.
- After you captured one cactuar,you'll receive a Sphere. Go back to the cactuar stone and insert the sphere there.If you don't insert the sphere,you can't found the other cactuars.
- Cactuar no 8 (Isra) is pretty tricky to get, you must go a little left and enter a very small tunnel (pit) there, it will brings you right behind it. You must enter this tunnel, otherwise, you won't be able to get it, believe me ;). If you can't find the tunnel, just look at the map, follow the line.
- When you meet the last cactuar (Flaile), the "needle time" message doesn't shows up correctly, so be careful, don't get caught!
- I don't know if you still can get the Sigils if you lose the game to the cactuars, so if you lose the game, RESET, and try again.
