Ultimate Weapons

Cloud Strife (Ultima Weapon)

Cloud Strife Cloud's ultimate weapon, the "Ultima Weapon", can be found by defeating none other than Ultimate WEAPON, the weapon that devastates Mideel. After the initial fight, fly around with the Highwind and bump into the Ultimate Weapon to initiate a battle against him. For its name, this WEAPON is by far the easiest to beat in the entire game.

This devastating weapon has 8 slots but no materia growth, just like the other ultimates, making it only useful if you don't plan on growing any materia. Its attack power is 100, which allows it to bring down most enemies in a single blow. Its accuracy is unmatched as it rarely, if ever, misses. The Ultima Weapon becomes more powerful as Cloud gains more HP, averaging 9999 damage each time towards the end of the game.

Barret Wallace (Missing Score)

Barret Wallace Towards the end of Disc 2 during the raid on Midgar, Barret's Missing Score can be found on the staircase right before Hojo. Barret must be in your party for the item to be on the staircase. If he isn't, it won't be there.

Missing Score, just like every other ultimate weapon, has 8 slots with no materia growth. It has an attack power of 98 and an attack % of 108%. The damage Missing Score deals is directly proportional to the collective amount of AP of all of the materia equipped to the weapon.

Tifa Lockheart (Premium Heart)

Tifa Lockheart Tifa's ultimate weapon is called "Premium Heart", and can be found in Midgar in Disc 2. When the chance arises, bring your party back to Midgar and return to the same slums where Don Corneo's Mansion is. In the center-ish house you'll find a computer with a machine-gun overhead. Examine the computer and this item will be yours.

Premium Heart is a very powerful weapon, dealing more damage each time Tifa misses one of her Limit Breaks. Premium Heart also has 8 slots with no materia growth, and an Attack Power of 99 with a Hit % of 112%.

Aeris Gainsborough (Princess Guard)

Aeris Gainsborough When going through the Ancient's Temple towards the end of Disc 1 you will be taken to a room where you have to move a number of giant clock hands. Move the hands so you are able to walk over to IIII (no, not IV, IIII) and enter the room. Inside you will find the Princess Guard.

Aeris' ultimate weapon powers up whenever someone in your party is knocked out, going extremely powerful when two companions are KO'd. The Princess Guard, unlike the other ultimate weapons, has 6 slots (but still no materia growth), with an attack power of 52 and a hit % of 115.

Red XIII (Limited Moon)

Red XIII After the WEAPONs attack Midgar in Disc 2, return to Bugenhagen in his observatory in Cosmo Canyon and a sequence will occur between Red and his grandfather, culminating in the Limited Moon weapon.

The Limited Moon is very much like Cloud's Ultimate Weapon, with one major difference. Instead of powering up depending on the amount of HP you have, Limited Moon powers up depending on the amount of MP you have. The more MP, the more damage. The Limited Moon has an attack power of 93 and a hit % of 114.

Cait Sith (Marvelous Cheer)

Cait Sith Remember that room in Shinra HQ that had the exercise equipment and the lockers? If you return to that room during the raid of Midgar on Disc 2, the Marvelous Cheer can be found in one of the lockers that was locked the first time through.

Just like Limited Moon, Marvelous Cheer powers up depending on the amount of MP you have. Adding MP plus materia and other materia that raise MP amount is very useful here. The attack power is 95, while the hit % is 110%.

Cid Highwind (Venus Gospel)

Cid Highwind In Disc 1 or Disc 2, an old man can be found in front of the Item Shop in Rocket Town, staring up at the old leaning rocket. Talking to this old man 3 times will cause him to give you the Venus Gospel, Cid's most powerful weapon.

The Venus Gospel powers up exactly the same way as Red XIII and Cait Sith's: the more MP you have, the more powerful the weapon is. Again, we suggest a mixture of mana-adding materia such as MP Plus and summon materia. The Venus Gospel has an attack of 97 an a hit % of 103.

Yuffie Kisaragi (Conformer)

Yuffie Kisaragi Yuffie's Conformer can be found in the Sunken Gelnika, on disc 2 or 3. To get there, float underwater around the Gold Saucer area in the Submarine and search for a sunken airplane that you might have seen. Inside, search around to find this ultimate weapon.

The conformer is the perfect weapon to couple with a Morph Materia. Even while using the Morph command, the conformer deals "normal" amounts of damage, thereby allowing easier and faster kills. Conformer has an attack power of 96 and a hit % of 112.

Vincent Valentine (Death Penalty)

Vincent Valentine Gaining Vincent's Death Penalty is a task that spans multiple discs. For more information about executing the entire side quest involved, please visit our Side Quests page.

The Death Penalty gains power as more enemies are killed. It has an attack power of 99, and a hit % of 115.
