alright people. ummm people are saying shit to me on my xanga, in the chatter box. and I clicked to see everything cuz there is more info and it gives the IP Address. I was just wondering, is there any way I could find out where they live? [where they are or something, cuz it might be a person i kno and they are acting like my friend and then backstab me a lot of people have done that to me for no reason]. any program too? something...?

I put this in here because, people are treating me like shit and they back talk me and come out of nowhere with it. so i feel bad about this. If this is in the wrong section, please go ahead and move it. Thank you.

The FBI uses IP addresses to find where people live. There are other ays to find this. I doubt Xanga has this nifty little tool.

Well, I don't have advice to you. I can't. People aren't going to bow down to your every whim because you own a Xanga dealy. People are going to disrespect you. Honestly, deal with it. The internet is full of assholes wanting to insult just to get off on it.

If you get all uptight about things on the internet, then I want to know why you joined a forum.

I don't suggest you start trying to find out where people live because they say bad stuff to do. It's the internet, they say it because they can, most of the time they don't mean it. If it's something constructive it might even be worth thinking about.

Seriously though, it's not worth the effort of finding out who they are. Even if they live in your area, it's completely possible that it's someone you don't know. And personally I wouldn't want to know, it's not worth agnoising over. If they feel like being bastards then let them, it's their problem not yours.

Anyway, I wouldn't try to find out where these people live, firstly because its not worth it and secondly because it could be construed as sinister/threatening. Look on their profile by all means, but nothing more than that.

And as for what these people are saying: unfortunately that's what can happen on the internet and its really not something you should get too upset about. I know that any kind of criticism or insult can be hurtful, but these people don't even know you so you shouldn't take it to heart. Some people just think its big & clever to be vicious. Its not worth your time to worry about it; there are plenty of other places you can go n the net where people won't treat you like that. Here for example :)

thats amazing, it really works... thanks Prankster. Yepp it shows the state, country, city, and even shows you a map of where they are, or is it pinpointed to the city? I don't know, but i'm starting to figure it out a lot more. you're awsome. ;)
