AP Hunting

In FF8 there was Cactuar Island where any battle with however many cactuars could get you 20-60 AP. Very useful for getting GF abilities quicker, of course!

Now, I haven't played through FF9 since late 2000/early 2001 when I first played it, so I can't remember details like that at all. u.u Is there any place like that on FF9 where the monsters all give a yummy amount of AP? :D (aside from Friendly Monsters...)

There aren't many good spots for gaining AP that I remember, but in the Crystal World (The place after Memoria) you can fight the Chaos Guardians in random battles and they give out seven AP I think... No experience though.

That's the best place I can think of...

That's true the crystal world but also Yan's Island >_> it's a big whip when they attack but it's worth it when they hit ya though.

Izlude's suggestion is by far the best one. :)

This one isn't quite as consistant, since it's not always guaranteed to happen, but I do this every so often. Once the mist returns in disc 4, some of the random battles you'll encounter are TWO MISTODON battles. They'll give you a combined AP of 4-6.

Meh, the only problem with those guys is that you're not always guaranteed to get the two in battle. :)

A lot of enemies offer 3 AP, and my favorite of those are the Grand Dragons since you get a good amount of EXP in the deal, too. ;)

I agree the crystal world and fighting mistodons can be good for AP but nothing beats a good old training run outside Daguerro. The Grand dragons there weild many EXP as well as AP so when fighting you get all that you bargain for. I once spent 30 hours just running around outside there. Not all in 1 go mind you.

But unfortunately this can get a bit repedative even though you develop repedative stratagies for upsoming battles and... BOOm!

I love to get AP at Popos Heights or the beaches of the Lost Continent. Consistant 3s every battle. And since I double it, that's 6 AP per fight.
