This was formerly part of the Where are you from? (http://www.uff9.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=10919) thread.

Becasue we had two separate topics in one topic, and it had gone on so long, I split the topic into two separate threads. Please continue the conversation in each. Thanks!

Eeek... well ADV, if you look back at your first post, you very much DID ask what country people came from.

me? I'm from Korea....^_^
So please don't go screaming and yelling that people misunderstood you. You also answered your own question by saying what country you were from, not your nationality, sooo.....

Anyway, since we're changing the question, I'd have to say that my nationality is Asian-American. ;)

I am yet to fully commend my nationality. My English upbringing was amusing to some extent, but I still am oblivious of my origins. From the knowledge I picked up from my surrounding life, I appear to be:

English-Irish. This is yet to be confirmed. I consider it a third English, a third Irish, and a minor third American. Don't ask, for the response would be both down-winded and meaningless.

I guess I never really took the time to research my roots, and now that I think about it, I really wish I had when my ancestors were alive. Oh well...

From what I know, my mom's mom's mom has roots estabished in England, but for anyone who asks, it's just half white.

My father is African-American making me half black and half white, although I tend to dispute it percentage wise, but that's just me. Looking at me from a short distance, people tend to think that I'm Hispanic or Italian in some way...so weird.

*singsong Welsh accent* I'm from Wales! ^_^

One half of my is pure Welsh, so I guess that's my main nationality, even though I've never actually been to the damn place. The other half of me is shrouded in mystery....see, my "grandpa" was a Naval officer, and he & his wife (my grandma) were posted to Malta, where my mother was born. Mum worked as a gynaecologist in the '70s, and she & her boss (for reasons unknown o_O ), traced the date of her conception, from the day she was supposedly born. A rather interesting fact came to light- at the time my mother was conceived, my grandpa was away at sea..

It's now a family joke that her real father was actually the Maltese milkman ^_^

So who knows, I could be a quarter Maltese, or I could not. The ancestry of that side of the family is French though. We hail from a village that has our surname. A lot of us were executed for religious beliefs apparently =-O

I'm Singaporean, from Singapore. But as for my ancestors... I don't know. Most proably they were from China. But my family is not mixed or anything. Except for my aunt, who married an American. Not that I say Americans are bad... this is all that I know. Adults don't tell us much...

Oh, but I'm still considered a Singaporean. I did not migrate here or something...^_^ I don't know anything else....

Even though I have very mixed origins, I consider myself 100% Australian, I was born here and have lived here all my life and raised only by my Australian mother.

On my fathers side My Grandfather is Chinese and my Grandmother is Burmese. They both live in Burma(now called Myanma, I like the old name better)I've never met them.
My father was born in Burma, but has live in Australia since he was 20 years old.

He's never been in my life much, my parents never married and I used to see him every weekend. But when I turned 18 he married a Burmese woman and I now haven't seen him since I was 20. I don't mind though, I don't like my father much.

On my mother's side A great, great, great Grandmother was Spanish. My Granfather is Irish, but he went back to his country when my mother was 3. My Grandmother recently died this year which is sad ;_; Her parents were from England, but she's lived in Australia all her life.

My mother's a great, caring person unlike my father and my mother is one of my best friends.

So I'm pretty much classed as Eurasian.

I'll post a photo of myself in the album so you can see what I look like. I'll borrow my brother's digital camera and this PC I'm using is his. But I'll have to wait 2 weeks since he's away in the navy and he takes his D. camera with him.

I'm an Australian!! I hail from a small town in the middle of good old NSW. But truly I am a royal descendant. On my mother's side my great grandfather 13 times more was the last king of Ireland (he died in about 1065 I think!) and on my father's side somewhere along the line (I'm a bit hazy at this...) is Mary Queen of Scots!

But nothing beats being a fair dinkum Aussie!!! :D

I never noticed this thread! o_O

well this might be quite hard to explain...

English...
Alacian... (I still can't spell it...but there's a region in France called Alsace which has it's own language...it's basically a mix of French and German)

My mother is purely english...whereas my dad is the Alsace guy...

I lived in France when I was small....then my parent split... ( ;_; ) and I came over to England...explaining the classic English humour and language.

I can speak decent French...but I still can't grasp alsacian yet...It's probably going to take me a hell of a long time too... -_-
