View Full Version : Changes to Triple Triad
Following recent (http://www.uffsite.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16583)events (http://www.uffsite.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16592) and several complaints from users, Mike and I decided there were several issues with Triple Triad and the way it's run (http://www.uffsite.net). (http://www.uffsite.net/Alex/xenonowned.gif)
We've made some changes.
We came to the conclusion that the game was unbalanced and card upgrading was causing people to be left behind, and, even worse, devaluing the rare cards as any card can become extremely powerful with upgrading. Users felt they couldn't get into the game as everyone had highly upgraded, powerful cards.
As such, we have removed card upgrading entirely. From now on, the only powerful cards will be the rare ones. You will now be rewarded with gil for winning matches, and we will be offering new card packs in the store with rarer, more powerful cards in.
In addition, any previous card upgrades have been reset. All cards are now at their initial face value. There will be no compensation, as every single member is in the same boat.
This is final. No buts. Any previous promises no longer stand.
We have made these decisions to make for a better Triple Triad experience for all. Thank you (http://www.uffsite.net). (http://www.uffsite.net/Alex/xenonowned.gif)
Indeed, concerning the recent events i assume you mean, i'd say this is a good call.

Ouch AP, just ouch. But ya, definitely good. Always feel sorry for new players who come up against a hand with the lowest card totaling 35.

Oh good, now that we're all on even ground, games might be more evenly sided.
I might start playing again. :P

Me too, I dropped out of the TT Tournament due to the card upgrades and mine being semi-upgraded but now this puts things on an even playing field.
:D
JUST FOR THE FUCKING RECORD, this particular change is not ANY ONE PERSON'S FAULT.
We've been planning to make these changes for a while (in TTv3), but our discussions tonight made us step up our shedule and do it right away. Why do you think we never followed up on our plans to remove Quad-A's?
Do not go down this fucking path with me. Back down.
Are we clear? Good.

I would like to apologize to those I attacked. XD....all is good.
This may turn out best for all. A good decision.

Good decision - Xenon is now winnable again.
Not that I didn't beat him yesterday XD

Well Xenonstar was winnable anyway same and plus mean anyone has a chance to win you just need to plan out your moves :P
But back on topic, I think it's good that this finally happened, I wanted the upgrade system removed from the game all along, I prefer my gil for win idea instead anyway :P

Is the gil taken from the user you beat, or is it provided by the forums?
Gil winning will be fully working later this week.
It will be calculated on many wins and losses the person you are playing has. Beating someone with more will earn you a more hefty sum.

That means beating Xenon would make you a millionare. Sounds good to me.
Also, you know how you said there would be more rare cards flying about? Are you making completely new packs, or just improving the odds on the old ones?
You guys said all along that this would happen, so people can't be too upset. And it makes for a fairer game too. So, good move.

You don't need a pack to start. You get 5 cards when you first log into the TT interface, and another few from posting around the place.

Yeah this will make it fairer. But I still hold the opinion that people with infinite gil hold a big advantage over anyone. They can get all the best cards by buying pack after pack of cards until they get the card they're after. Sure, you win by strategy, but sheer strength is a big factor in any match.
The only people with infinite gil are forum staff, and their cards/gil are closely monitored to ensure they don't do this. People have been punished for it in the past.

Oh yes! It's even baby! Sort of, Roger still owns though with his god-en cards.
P.S. EDIT: I keep on trying to buy a pack of cards, but it says I don't have enough gil. It cost 615, I think, and I clearly have over 1500 gil. Has it been taken down for some time, or is it an error...?

Yeah, I was being slow again, and reading the wrong way. Thinking I had what I needed. Sorry :retard:
