I'll be damned if I miss a year of this.

As one may recall (http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=157326), last year's defending champion Solid Snake blazed through all five rounds of the tournament, outscoring his opponents by a combined margin of 66-32, over a 2-to-1 ratio. But with another year gone by, can he successfully defend his title? In order to do so, he will have to prove himself more worthy than 31 other gaming characters. Which 31? Well that's for you to decide.

Each poster in this thread can submit a list of up to three video game characters from any genre, platform, or era they can come up with. The first 31 entrants will be randomly seeded into the tournament, and from there the battles will begin.
