Well hey there everyone...my name is Dino Vlatko Zelenika and I'm 16. I was born in Mostar, Bosnia&Herzegovina but I moved to Bristol, England a few months before my 8th birthday. Despite living here for almost 9 years, I still have a fairly strong Bosnian accent, but English is oddly my best subject; I achieved an A* grade in Secondary School and I hope to study English at Bristol University after I finish college. :)
As a small boy growing up in Bosnia, I was always fascinated by video games and sports such as football bored me to death. I got a PlayStation for my 7th birthday, and on a visit to England soon after I was offered a demo by a shop assistant in a games store. I could speak no English at this point so my mum had to translate for me, but after hearing that it was a demo I made a disgusted face and said "no", then promptly wandering off to look at some more games-I disliked demo's, because they were only a small part of an actual game whereas I wanted to play the entire game. Knowing my decision was one I would probably regret, my mum got the demo anyway; this demo happened to be one of Final Fantasy 8. When we returned to Bosnia I decided to try this demo; I thought the game was amazing, and although I could not understand any of the text, I was hooked and I have loved Final Fantasy since that day. When I completed the demo I couldnt wait until the actual game came out; I then played it endlessly.
Final Fantasy 8 also helped me to learn English; I picked up spellings and correct grammar from the in game text, in addition to studying it in my private time.
Since then, I have collected every Final Fantasy game out there, from 1 to 12, though I did not particurlarly enjoy 11 so I do not play it anymore. For the past year or so I have not been particurlarly active on the games scene, though I recently started playing Final Fantasy 12 again.
My other hobbies include socialising, internet & instant messengers, partying, literature & reading, history and nature. I have also been growing Carnivorous Plants since the age of 12-e.g Venus Flytraps, Sundews, Pitcher Plants and have a collection of over 120, including some very rare and endangered species from accross the globe. I also grow Orchids and have a collection of a similar size-once again I have Orchids from accross the globe, from tropical and non tropical areas, including Britain(yes they do grow here!). I now have a large greenhouse that is heated and humidified that houses most of these plants, though I still grow some in the house. Not your average hobby I know, but I have been interested in plants and nature from a very early age so it naturally expanded into this.
So thats basically an overview of me and my history with Final Fantasy. I hope to meet lots of great people here and have a good time. :)
