Java Applet? You have been gone a while.

That link from general chat won't get you anywhere. You need to install a program called mIRC. I think the website is www.mirc.com or something along those lines. Its free to download, but does have annoying "please register!" messages that go away after a few seconds.

Once you have mIRC you need to get onto the irc.starfusion.org hoster-magigger (I'm not a techie, don't know the terms) in the Connection Master box that comes up when you enter the program. Once on starfusion, look up the #uffsite channel, et voilą!

There's another thread on this somewhere in the General Chat forum, created by Royston, if memory serves. If you're having any more trouble, look that up. So many people posted on it, its basically an FAQ.

There may not be too many people on it though, its been kinda dead lately :(

Hope that works!

The main link through the java applet doesn't work for some reason, I'm not sure if we took it down or what, but when I type the original Http://www.uffsite.net/chat it always works for me. Not that I go in there a whole lot myself. It seems like no one is ever in there.

But yeah, as Lulu said, mIRC is always the best way to go, just because it is so much more convenient.

But if you have a Mac, you have to use the link Miko metnioned. I hate the fact that mIRC isn't Mac compatible (well, last time I checked).

I stopped using the chat a while back. Mainly because I can't make snide comments to silence. I may try again when I arrange a new laptop and get back into talking to people though...

Everything seems to be a shadow of its former self these days, sadly.

It is what we make it. Enough people go on, and we'll have the glory days back in no time.

I don't know if any "glory days" will ever return or at least for our group. I mean, people were trying to reclaim those said days even when I first made my appearance here.

I had a good amount of optimism myself a year back but when even your webmasters say they're pretty much throwing in the towel and moving on, I think our current run is about done as a fan website for Final Fantasy.

I was lucky enough to ride on the coat tails of the last generation before things quieted down and it was fun while it lasted. Than people grew apart, moved on individually, and any and all last bits of overall fellowship disappeared amongst bouts of life becoming more important, bits of drama in chat or on site(i.e. The Xenonstar incident), and whatever else takes up time.

I'm glad there's still a handful of people around though, it's nice I have one other thing to actually use a computer for outside of email, digital art, and whatever other things I require the use of a computer for.

We'll always have Paris... oh... and ZTL.
