The Video Games - 2009

A spinoff to my popular (hey, it has 4 unique posters ;)) 'The Movies - 2009' thread, the principle here is the same but for upcoming video games. If it helps, here is a large list of games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:2009_video_games) that we can expect to see sometime in the next 12 months.

I cannot say I have much knowledge of many of those games, but I am certainly looking forward to WWE Legends of Wrestlemania, Saw: The Videogame, and Final Fantasy XIII (should it make it over here before years end).

The game I am almost hysterical with excitement about, however, is Ghostbusters: The Videogame; I cannot tell you how upset I was when Activision dropped it from their schedule nor how relieved I was when Infogrames announced that Atari would publish it.

Star Trek Online. :D Because that's how freakin' cool I am.

Even though CoD5 and FIFA09 are already out they deserve a mention as must-haves when my EMA comes through and I get myself a shiny new Xbox. Along with Fable 2 and Fallout 3 as well as SW: Force Unleashed. All current games I know, but still excited to play them.

Battlefield: Heroes should be great fun, I just really wish they'd hurry up and release the sodding game.. Guitar Hero: Metallica could be interesting too. There's a whole load of interesting games I never knew were in production on that list - LOTR: Conquest sounds interesting for sure.

WWF? Screw that, UFC 2009 all the way.. though I was never really into the realistic style fighting games, much rather preferring the Tekken series. (Sadly no Tekken game is mentioned on that list)

We'll see, but I am seriously looking forward to flying a Galaxy-class around a virtual MMO world more than anything right now.

Final Fantasy XIII and Tekken 6 are the big ones, even if the latter's not on the list. Still cannot wait.

Sonic and the Black Knight will most likely be dire, but, the concept still intrigues me.

And Guitar Hero Metallica, despite the fact it'll be average, it's the novelty of playing classic hits again.

I am looking forward to the new Star Ocean. even though it wont be the whole 'Star-Trek without redshirts' stuff, im still curious as to where they're taking the series. Apparently, it's supposed to be before the first 3 games. It looks beautiful.

Also, original Punch-Out! on Wii. Want.

I completely forgot about Star Ocean and Star Trek. I've not played much of the SO games nor am I the biggest Trek (or online gaming) fan, but I am excited about both.

Final Fantasy Dissidia - due out in about 2 weeks in Japan so no doubt it will reach my shores in September next year

The three versions of Starcraft II

Any new Guitar Hero/Rockband games

Oh, and Megaman 9. Hasn't made it here yet as far as I know :P

I dunno, most of the video games that I've wanted actually were/are going to be released around the end of this year, like Rune Factory Frontier, Avalon Code, FF Dissidia, etc etc. I prefer importing the Japanese version so I get things a little early; but the US releases will be in 2009 so I don't know if they would count as "2009 games" or not. :P

I guess the Final Fantasy XIII games are something to look forward to, but I haven't really been paying any attention to them.
