Easy, much?
I'm not that far ahead, what with work and everything, but I've just arrived at Jibral Castle, met up with Zola, fairly amused by Maromaru! :D So far I have found the whole thing very easy, which is a shame as I had been expecting a bit of a challenge, comparable to Final Fantasy VII or IX. My main question is, without giving too much away, what did everyone else think of it?
Also the boss music, anyone know what it is called?

Can't help you with the boss music - I found the entire soundtrack pretty poor actually, in comparison to other games in the genre of this generation.
I did find it easy, yes. I stopped right at the start of Disc 3, mainly because I picked up a large amount of budget titles at that point and never went back to Blue Dragon. From my impressions of the two discs though, I was generally unimpressed - I expected far more, and despite the obvious depth the game has, the story is pretty uninteresting, and although the battle system is a nice casual blend between Final Fantasies, it just has something missing from the core gameplay to grip you. It's got some very nice ideas, but not enough execution, in my eyes.
If you can hook the ol' 360 to Live though, like Nikki said in the other thread somewhere, an Ultra Hard Mod is free to download. Never tried it, but I'm guessing it stops the game becoming a cake walk. :)

I've only played about 2 hours or so of it since I bought it the other day, in the Ancient Hospital (yeah I'm only that far)
To be honest, it does seem a bit simple, but I downloaded the Ultra-Hard mod (which comes with New Game +) and I'll play through it to the finish and see how it goes.
At first look though, the Shadow Classes seem needlessly complicated for the style of game.

All RPGs are incredibly easy. You just have to level up high enough. ;)
I get the feeling this game was meant to appeal to kids, after I beat the first disk and stopped playing. Get Lost Odyssey. It definitely provides a bigger challenge.

It was the first game I got for my 360... ;)
Anyway, just popping in here to answer, the boss music is called "Eternity," with vocals by Ian Gillian of Deep Purple fame.

WITH THAT CHICKEN SEEING YOU.
God yes, that was worth it. Might have to pick it up and play it through to the finish now.

Thanks for that find, Alex. Boss battles will never be the same again. :D
Also, thanks to Kuro for the information. Ian Gillan and Deep Purple = rock gods much!
Blue Dragon is alright, very easy though. Soundtrack is strangely one of Nobuo's worst with some notable exceptions. Lost Odyssey is all-over better and one of the best RPGs so far this generation. For me it's my personal favorite so far.

Yeah, Lost Odyssey is superior... and the best part is that in most shops, it's only a tenner these days. Obviously that means the casuals never bought the bastard as it is only a few months old...
Blue Dragon is alright, but it's very old fashioned and I agree, it's easy. I haven't tried it in harder modes, but even if I did I'd have maxed shadows and stuff from the new game + thing. I'll give it one thing though - the achievements are harder than Lost Odyssey's.
Nature of the RPG beast this gen is to periodically suck arse. I think Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonata are the stand-outs for me.
