View Full Version : Crisis Core: FF7
So, who has actually played this? I have to admit I was quite surprised by this one. I had a bit of a falling out with Final Fantasy with FF10 and FF12, and this game actually restored my faith quite a bit.
In spite of all the stuff with that Japanese popstar - whatever his name is - taking a role in the game, the whole thing was actually pretty well designed and toed the line between fanservice and fanwank really well. It's also really made me want a remake of FF7 which I never wanted before...

Though I think I stated this before, but I love this game so much. I didn't get very far, but I recently borrowed the game from my brother to play it through all the way.
Ohh, it's so awesome. It's different but I actually like it. Though that's only just playing in a few hours.
Btw, wasn't it Gackt who took the role in the game? I think he did a fair share in Bujingai too. That's a pretty good game if I do say so myself.

Crisis Core redeemed Final Fantasy VII for me.
I loved the DMW and the battle system. The complete randomness of the Limits made me love it all the more...and the dancing Cactuar.
Story was also incredibly good. Dirge of Cerberus kind of felt 'phoned in' story-wise, but Crisis Core managed to do what it couldn't.
I will admit to being a tad annoyed with the 300 or so missions. They were all the same more or less. Go through the small level, pick up the chests, kill the visible monster.
The music was sheer joy for me. The version of One Winged Angel in this game was probably the best orchestration I've ever heard of that song.
Also the ending was sheer magic. I am not ashamed to admit that I was moved to tears by it. It was probably more poignant for the fact that since the beginning of the game you knew it was coming.
Basically, a 9/10 in my book. Loses a point because of the missions.
