You have all finally seen the light

Welcome to the Semi-Final of Survivor: Battle of the Decade!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v159/Daviace/logo_battle_600w_v4_465x3001.png

Begins: 11pm, 16th March 2010
Ends: 11pm, 18th March 2010

When yet another discussion about the rules gripped the final regular round of the game, Aether suggested breaking them “makes little antman cry” but I suspect it will actually be…

Eviction Votes

Mass Effect - 4
Final Fantasy XII – 3
Knights of the Old Republic - 2

Immunity Votes

Mass Effect – 4
Final Fantasy XII – 3
Knights of the Old Republic - 2

…Beastly that is going to be looking for a shoulder tonight. Either that or he will be out hunting for Roger, whose well timed Hero vote for Mass Effect is perhaps entirely responsible for the result. He certainly won't be all that pleased with Bzero (who wondered whether his was the "First eviction vote ever for Knights of the Old Republic?" - yes, it was) either, because after being on side for numerous rounds he switched Immunity allegiances in the pursuit of Predictions points. For shame.

So, while it may soon be goodbye for several of our companions if the raging beast gets his hands on them, even Lord DB's late "tactical vote" was not enough to stop this from definitely being the final stand for...

Odin Sphere
Tales of Symphonia
Fallout 3
Persona 4
World of Warcraft
Tales of Vesperia
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth
Star Ocean: Til the End of Time
Eternal Sonata
Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Dragon Age: Origins
Golden Sun
Chrono Trigger DS
Lost Odyssey
Kingdom Hearts II
Final Fantasy XII

I have a few minutes left before he turns his anger upon your host, and I'm going to spend them perusing (as casually as possible, under the circumstances) your answers to the last Question - "What has been the best RPG of this decade?"

Sam chose something of a wild card when he chose "Darksiders. Great, entertaining and solid RPG." He wasn't entirely alone, but general consensus was that Final Fantasy XIII is the best the last two and a half months have had to offer, with its name followed by "Nuff said" being all the explanation Dedrus felt necessary. Mig agreed, though he did hold up his hands and admit that "I've been seriously under-RPG'd as of late thanks to college, lack of money etc etc. So it's not like that's an unbiased opinion."

As for Sioux, well, his response was far from its usual standard as he apparently thought "going to go eat some dinner" was more important than answering. Some people need to get their priorities straight, I say.

In a completely unpredictable turn of events, we have been joined by the new

Question of the Round

What was the best RPG of the 1990's?

And yes, it was accompanied by the

Miscellaneous Business

- Ridley, you didn't bold your vote so you...well, does it need to be said?

- Just to clarify, while you cannot change a legitimate vote (i.e one that is in bold) under any circumstances, you can post as many as you like that aren't in bold before posting later with your genuine vote. You aren't, however, allowed to edit a previous post in order to add the bold. If none are in bold, none will be counted.

Here is your list;

Final Fantasy IX
Knights of the Old Republic
Mass Effect

And as was written in the ancient scrolls of years gone by, “nostalgia isn't what it used to be...”

*facepalms* Bastards. Well, back to the drawing board...

Evict: Final Fantasy IX

Best RPG of the 1990's? I'd be torn between FFVI and FFVII, but I think I'm gonna have to go with Chrono Trigger for this one.

You're evicting an already-evicted game.

Evict: Mass Effect

QotR: Secret of Mana, no doubt. Amazing gameplay, amazing story, amazing music... just plain, well, amazing.

Haha, for some reason, I read XII from Beastly. Whoops.

GENIUS!! BRILLIANT!! I refrain from voting in the round and lo! Final Fantasy XII finally goes. I am pleased.

Now onto the next business at hand - Knights of the Old Republic.

I noticed a few rumblings against this game in the last round, so let me make a few things clear:

If you vote for this game in a dream you'd better wake up and apologise.

Should you ACTUALLY vote for the game then, well, let's just say I'll find out where you live and, to paraphrase a well known man with a rubber face: An eternity with Beelzebub and all of his hellish companions will be a picnic compared to five minutes with me and this pencil!!" *Brandishes pencil menacingly*

Evict: Mass Effect

Immune: Knights of the old Republic

Gil will go to whoever can announce where my two paraphrased quotes come from.

I'm so sorry XII. My dinner and indecisive lazy stance killed you. -_-

*sigh*

Eviction: Mass Effect

QotR:

What was the best RPG of the 1990's?

A toss up I'd day between Mario RPG, Secret of Mana, and Chrono Trigger. All three brought RPG changing game mechanics to the table and each had an excellent story line.

Sorry Sheperd. You're pretty badass, but the other games are superior in my opinion.

Immunity: Final Fantasy IX

Bandwagon, HO!

QotR:
Best RPG of the 90's? It's easily Chrono Trigger for me. I know I'm pretty shameless about hyping it up, but I still love the game, years after I first played it.

Eviction: Mass Effect

QotR: Considering I was 9 years old when the 90s ended, I think the only RPGs from that era I have played are the Pokémon series and FFVII. As a kid I preferred Castlevania and Spyro the Dragon. :P

So personally I'd say Pokémon Blue, just because that was probably the game that got me into this particular genre.. although it is pretty loosely labelled as an RPG.

So if I just hadn't bothered to vote Immunity for Mass Effect, KotOR would be gone now?

Eviction: Knights of the Old Republic
Immunity: Mass Effect

QotR: FFVII.

Cheetah

I don't even think immunites matter now.

We all know Final Fantasy IX is winning the game.

Not at all - I'm willing to wager that KOTOR will win.

Roger

I'd wager on KOTOR winning too.

Aether

KotOR for the win definitely...

Evict: Mass Effect

Is it really a bandwagon when there's really no choice on what has to go now?

QotR: Final Fantasy VI. It shit all over VII's story. The only reason VII gets the press it does is because it was the return of Final Fantasy to the west after so many years.

Sioux

I concur.

Immunity: Knights of the Old Republic

I quit.

No FFXII = no Dedrus.

Sioux
Mar 18, 2010, 05:40 PM
Yeah, I know how you feel.

But, I want to see thing to the end and I want to see KOTOR sitting next to Besaid, Shiva and Vivi.

Yeah, I know how you feel.

I thought that FFVII's Cid won the heroes, Sioux? Or were you just picking random examples of how highly you esteem KOTOR?

Sure, why not? :cookie:

KOTOR sucked.
Mass Effect sucked.

Sure, they were both relative turning points - but far less worthy of this title than some of the games on the list we had.
