I had this exact same problem with one of my ex's. We fought nonstop..and ended up going out/breaking up about 3 different times. He would always act sooooo sweet and I'd be an idiot and say ok...but then I realized that this entire deal was only hurting both of us.

So basically...you're going to have to be somewhat harsh. Take this guy somewhere (make sure it's a public place) and sit him down and tell him that you do not want to be together anymore. Explain that you two just aren't right for each other, and that you wish him well in his search, but please leave you alone.

And if that doesn't work, I have some mafia connecti-..er..uh..I mean. ;)

I think im going to put this in LHH so that more people can help you out. Maybe alot of the guys AND girls will be able to help. I will edit this with a proper reply when I have more time. ^_^ Good luck for now

KG is right. Although you do not want to be really harsh and make a scene and hurt his feelings, if he is annoying you constantly and can't seem to take a no, you really have to make it clear that he has to. It might be a good idea to have some friends there as well, to support and back you up if he continues to not accept what you say.

I don't really know what else to tell you...but I wish you luck! ^_^

Yeah, KG and Arrow are right.
If your ex won`t stop bugging you and can`t take a no, you might need to be a little harsh.
He needs to accept that it`s over, so if you`ve tried convincing him in a less harsh way, you`ll need to try the other way.

I liked KG`s suggestion of going to a public place and try to 'finish it' there.
If you think the reason he`s doing this to you is just because he`s immature, (which is usually the case) be sure to act very grown-up and mature when you talk to him.
Saying things like "I hope you`ll be able to find someone else" and "I`m sorry, but it`s the way I feel."
Maybe then he`ll realise how serious you are about the whole situation.

Best of luck! :)

Sometimes you can't deal with these things without being harsh...so you could try softening the blow with something. How much of a friend do you consider this person? You could always get them something that emphasizes friendship and nothing else. But in whatever way you do it, you're going to have tp speak to them again. KG's right about doing it in a public place (public as in a park or a shopping mall or something, not a classroom full of people listening in). All you can do is be firm but fair. Don't insult them or throw things in like "Just lay off me, alright?!". Not yet anyway. Explain how you feel and how their level of attention makes you feel very uncomfortable.

Let us know how it turns out :)
