i think we should have a area for roleplaying, i've seen lots of other forums with it and lots of people use it, so maybe could we add a roleplaying section plz?

We've tried this countless times before, only to have it end up being a disaster...Unfortunately, these things end up in flame wars, spamming, and other not-so-fun-stuff...

That said, I'm working on a new feature that (sorta) has to do with Role Playing, and will eventually add an "expansion" to it that will be like a "make your own story" thing... :P

make the RPG forum have no raising of post count and the bloody spammers will stay away. cause if your a spammer, your only look to raise your post count. and if you cant, you wont spam.

If properly controlled, an RP forum wouldn't be so bad - at least that's what I think, but we do have a spam forum, and any spammers who look to spam up an RPG, can just go to the spam forum, right?

I'm also looking forward to that hack that Silver mentioned...it sounds neat so far. :)

From what I undestand, The hack will be similar to RPing. But what do I know?

Besides, I despise RPing. It's incredibly annoying when a person does some big "super move" out of no where that kills you in one shot. -_-;

Yeah, ill just be sitting here, waiting. Stealing CD's donuts... *munch munch* I like RPing but only when its at least semi creative. I wonder what the details of this hack would be... hopefully its not so stiff structured like most RP Hacks Ive seen :)

Ok, I'm sure that the hack won't make things so strict as that you won't be able to even step forward without being warned - but there will have to be certain things that need tweaking, so maybe after it's been tested it can be modified until it's up to everyone's standards.

And seriously, that doughnut scene (up there) is the sort of spam that none of us will want in there :\

This Hack sounds interesting, rping will always get out of control, cause there is always gonna be those people that like to show off and say ridiculous things.

RPGing is great on forums, i was a member of so many online RPG forums, and its not as bad as you think. If you go to one of the RP sites and take a look in there you'll see. Well thats just me i think they are very fun. But one time someone got carried away with it and decided to make a forum phantom thing. what he did was made a new account name and his name was "unknown" and he went around killing people and no one knew who he was. But that was only one time.

last time we had an RP board, we had fighting and normal RP, first it was coo,l, then, newbies wanted to play "god" and fuck up every damned thing that happened, tired ruling the fighitng boards and in short, jammed a metal pole into the gears of work....

well guys, i have read some of these and i agree. People will always want to do there own things. Thats why we have mods in the game to boot them. I would treat it as a forum and if they do inapproproate things ban them from the rpg. I htink it is very possible. But this is still a little shady due to the fact that i have played alot of rpgs online (Shimlar,Runescape.....etc) and people try t play god. I dont like it at all. So we just gatta watch out for this stuff and take action when it happens.

Don't worry about it - there will always be things that will stop these things from happenning either done automatically by the script or manually :)

Greetings. I just joined the board, and posted my introduction in "The Gate" section. I also asked whether it would be OK to cross-reference my Final Fantasy RP, Final Fantasy: Infinity, that I'm running in the RPGClassics Boards here. We are promoting the Festival over there, so I thought it would be fair. But I want to know for sure: I won't post a link until I'm told it is allowed. I have no expectations other than to invite people who might want to read it to know about it, though it is open for anyone to join.

I would like to say, that in the years I've taken part in RPs my experiences have been positive, with only the occasional rude person ruining things. Spamming has never been a problem, perhaps because it is more of a group-written story than a WoW simulation. At most, newbies might join and not contribute well, but usually they can be motivated with friendly advice. In any case, FF:I is our own tribute to the series, with characters both original and from all the games being allowed, in a never-mind-the-original-story kind of setting (Yes, Aeris is alive. So far. :D ) Seems to be working well so far. :)

In any case, thanks for allowing me to post here and congratulations on the Festival. :)
