Just an idear here people,

I think users should get more gil if they make a popular thred. For every new page thats added to there thred, the user who created the thred should get an extra 10 gill, or something.

It could work well for the quality of topics in the forum. More people will be posting really good threds.

what do you think?

Well, the per page idea would be a bit hard, because that's customizable. You'd gain more gil if you were to set it at 5 posts per page, than if you have it on 30, like me. A better idea would be per a certain amount of posts. =P

Oh right, Yeah, so every 15 posts there will be a 10 gil reward. does that make sense?

Few issues with that (in my opinon) that make me think that that isn't too good of an idea:

* Thread makers (the ones I'm thinking of anyway) will spam their own topics to bump it onto the next page and therefore get gil - even though Mods/Admins will subtract it anyway it will just take up too much time
* 10 gil will be nothing compared to what the hack is supposedly bringing in >_>'
* Different people have different page veiws like 10posts per page or even 50posts per page

Never know though, might still see it but it could be a bit of a pain in the arse to make it work, but I dunno because I know nothing about PHP ;p

It is... and I feel it's like the twilight zone or something. Eerie. Well, anyways, if you read shadow's thread about this, I answered it quite pleasantly in there.

I'd rather it be reversed. More gil for posting on threads with less posts already.

Hmmm. I think this is going to be one of those ideas that probably has more negative points than positive. It's an original idea, but with the whole different page-viewing concept, that's just going to cause problems.

And the idea about getting more gil for posting in threads with less posts: people would just spam up these threads, for more gil. And then, it would get popular. It's a double-edged sword; where there's originality, there's a complications.

its all up to the admins, but i dont see it happening, spam is a problem around here, not a big one, but we've had people bumping threads from november and all that, and i dont see how getting more gil would help...besides, its a MESSAGE board, gil is just an extra, SW could just take away the whole gil thing and leaeve it as is, so be happy for what you have...

I don't see spam as a big problem around here. I just see it as a big issue around here. I think the gil isn't an extra because it provides things you can get at any other message board for free(that, keep in mind, don't have the same set-up as here). I still don't think the idea would work and shouldn't be put in place, but I had to comment on that post.

yeah, i had actually meant it as if you take away the gil, everything was free again, forgot to put that in there...

In a post what i made up there ^ I said every 15 posts that are added to your thred you will get 10 gil.

We could have it so it is 15 posts by 15 different members... I think you're all thinking negative thoughts of this Idear... Think possitive!

I don't like the idea, and someone already came up with this idea. How is that for negativity? You throw out an idea, and people critique it or commend it or do a little bit of both. If you want positive comments for your idea, then I will tell you one thing: at least you are thinking about improving this community.

quiet, your seemingly a vet, or to me at least, you probably have seen 100 of these thread... they may change little but then come out unique though critique (hey that rhymed) they may not be used... but negitivity can spread, so that may make it sure there will be no hope for it. whoa... i was postive... so un-me...
