UFFSite Web/Podcasts - Want to be a Presenter?
With the radio now well established and working fine, we're now starting work on pod/webcasts. Expect the very first one from me to air Sunday night, then go up for download as a podcast afterwards. It will be aired on the radio at regular intervals for a week.
My first cast includes a first look at what you can all expect from Version 4 of the site and boards, a review of Advent Children, and a summary of the three next generation consoles, what we know, and what it means for Square, with the best music from FF you all know and love spliced in between.
I'm planning to record some roundtables with multiple people, theorizing on the games and all related things - making a new form of entertainment on the site.
So, where do you come in?
Want to present your own show? You can! All you need to do is record a sound file, spliced with music and you're there. You talk, introduce songs, discuss ideas, etc...
For now, all shows will be prerecorded for the advantage of being able to retransmit them as and when we need to. However, there is the possibility of live shows in the future. Reply to declare interest. I can help you with recording software and similar.

Sounds like a good idea! If I can get my hands on a different editing package (I've only got Cool Edit Pro 1.0) I might have a go at it. Don't know what I'd talk about though. I'm sure I could think of something.

Sounds alright - I've been thinking about it for a bit now.
So yeah - any special software we need?

whatever you're comfortable with. So long as the output is a song I can play in the broadcaster (so a regular sound file), I'm not too bothered.

I have a very nice headset, recording program, and free time. If there's anything specific that needs to be done, I'll do it ^^

It was always the plan to do it Minion, as I told you when you suggested it, but I wanted to test the water with the radio and see if it was a success first. It was.

You said it would be useless. >.>
In any case, it sounds half-interesting. And since I have nothing to do, sign me up.
EDIT: I have this thing recorded, but it wouldn't let me save it as....say....an .mp3, or what other files that you might use.
Do you want me to send it your way, anyway?

Any reccomendations on freeware? I'm thinking I might do it, but I want to know how gay I'll sound first.

I mentioned it in my newest cast.
But, i'll post 'er here.
I use Adobe Audition, which is a profrssional-like editing and recording program.
just go to Adobe's website and look in the products section for Adobe Audition.
30-day trial, I suppose.

Just downloaded a cracked copy of Adobe Audition, and with my free time ahead of me tonight, I should be able to compile something.
If not now, then tomorrow.

I should note it is not an OFFICIAL UFFSite Live until I deem it so - like for example, Minion did a show as a pilot of sorts, and it was so good, I decided to make him official.
Even if it's not official, I will still broadcast it - we appreciate your efforts - but basically, on the strength of your shows I will make you official or not. However, my judgement on your first show isn't final. If your first show is a tad crappy (I air it anyway, mind), and then you get better over time, I'd make you official for that.
Obviously, Official UFFSite Live Presenters have more obligation for regularity, even if it's regularity as sparse as "I'll do a show a month" or a show every 2 months. Staff's shows, providing they follow the rules, are instantly official.

If all you're recording is voice, Cool Edit is best. You don't need the multi-track function of Adobe Audition. And Min, AA is pro
