Welcome to the one-stop-shop for “secondhand Triple Triad cards

. This is the official version of the trading thread that our one & only Esp originally started. Since Version 2 of Triple Triad was launched its become clear that there are many more ways for cards to change hands than winning games or using the existing automated Trade Cards facility. Due to this, we’re working on creating ways to make exchanging cards better, easier and fairer for you. Eventually the existing automated system will be expanded, but that’s a while in the future, so in the meantime, this thread can be used. Before rushing on to get rid of all your duplicates, take a moment to read the rules and guidelines on exactly how the thread will work, as it’s a great deal more organized than the previous one. I’ll try & make it short but well…you know me

.
If you have any queries as a buyer or seller, then don’t hesitate to PM me

Although control of this will be transferred to the official TT mod once he/she is recruited.
Incidentally, you are of course still free to make private trades without using this system, but this is fairer to both the buyer & the seller, so its likely to be more beneficial to you.
For Sellers:
So you’ve got a card, (or maybe several) that you want to exchange? What do you do? Well, the first step is to fill out a “trading form, so to speak; which basically means copying & pasting the following into your post, and filling out each bit:
Card Name:
Card Stats:
Type of Trader:
Exchange Method:
Exchange Amount:
Closing Date:
Additional Comments:
But what the hell does Bee’s un-necessarily confusing terminology mean? I hear you say

.
Card Name: Simple right? Well mostly. The golden rule is make sure you state the exact name of a card, since omitting part of the name can cause confusion – for example Hojo/Hojo[Jenova], or Cid Fabool/Cid Fabool [Oglop], so make sure you get that exactly right. Secondly, a perhaps little known fact is that there are two cards of every playable character, so you need to be clear about which one it is. In some cases its simple – for example for FFVII there is a game version and Advent Children version of each character, however for some of the other games its hard to describe. So, should you be insane enough to want to trade one of these cards, please provide a link to it so that people can see which one it is.
For those that don’t know, to do this type the following, minus the *s
[*url=whatever]Name of Card[*/url]
To get the url of a card, right-click on it & go to Properties. You can of course, provide a link for any card you want to exchange.
Card Stats: Not necessary if you’ve provided a link, but since some people are too lazy to bother clicking, give the cards stats here in this order: left stat, top stat, right stat, bottom stat.
Type of Trader: As Esp pointed out in the original thread – different TT players look for different things, and this will obviously affect what they’re willing to take in exchange for their card. Thus far there seem to be two distinct categories emerging, so if you want to exchange then you need to classify yourself as either a
Power Player or a
Collector. Power Players are the ones that are all about stats. They’re only willing to trade for cards they can completely pulverize their opponents with, and if they’re selling one of those cards they’re going to want a whopping amount of Gil for it – enough to buy an even better card. Collectors on the other hand do just what their name says – collect. They’ll be happy to trade for anything they haven’t got, and perhaps might not be quite so interested in trading for Gil. And while they might not be willing to trade a Cid Highwind for a Goblin, on the whole stats aren’t that important.
If you don’t think you fit into either of those categories, just put both/neither. You’re not permenantly in one category either – it can change with trade. It basically just indicates the criteria for that particular exchange.
Exchange Method: . This covers the three methods in the thread’s title: sales, trades or auctions. A
sale is selling a card for a fixed amount of Gil. No more, no less. A
trade is exchanging your card for another card (or more than one), and an
auction is selling your card for as much Gil as you can get, with people bidding for it. Of course sometimes you’ll want to trade for a mixture of Gil and cards. If this is the case simple state your method as sale/trade or trade/auction.
Exchange Amount: This is where it gets interesting. Here is where you state what you’re hoping to exchange your card for. If it’s a
sale, simply state the amount you’re selling it for. If it’s a
trade, state what sort of cards you’re willing to trade for. This can be as broad as “anything I haven’t got, or as specific as “a Turks card (Miko springs to mind

), and anything in between – “an FFIX card, “a card with at least one A stat etc. If its an
auction, you can either leave it blank, or state a minimum amount that you’re willing to part with the card for. If you’re doing a mix of methods then make sure you state exactly what you’re hoping to get, e.g. “ a minimum of 500 Gil & a member card I don’t have.
Closing Date: This is the day on which you wish offers/bidding to close.
You must make it clear which country you are from, so that potential buyers can calculate what time bidding closes in their time zone. Technically it should close at 11:59pm on that day, so you’ll actually be sorting out who gets what on the day after, unless you happen to be up at that time. If you’re doing a sale, then it’s a first-come first-served basis. If you’re doing a trade then obviously its whatever takes your preferences, and again obviously, for an auction it’s the highest amount. You can also extend the closing date if you wish, just edit your post.
Additional Comments: This is for if you’ve got anything extra to say about your card, or anything else that doesn’t fit into the above options.
Once the closing date has passed, you should PM the successful buyer with a reminder of the agreed exchange amount (Gil/cards), AND inform those who were unsuccessful that the card has been bought elsewhere. The buyer should then donate the specified amount of Gil or initiate the card trade
before you let go of your card. If you have not received your Gil or an automated trade cards message (or both if it’s a mixture) within five days then please inform a member of staff. If you are unsure whether you have been paid or not then ask an admin to check for you. You must give the buyer their card
within three days of payment.
Finally; once you have sold a card, please let a member of staff know, so that they can delete your selling post and all associated buyers’ posts. That way people won’t have to wade through lots of posts to see whats on offer.
For Buyers:
Buying secondhand TT cards just became more complicated

, but also fairer and more organized. This is how to do it:
If you see a card being sold that you like the look of, you should make your offer by posting in the thread, not by PM’ing the seller. It would be ideal not to clutter up the thread with buyer’s responses, however restricting negotiations entirely to PMs would be unfair to auction bidders, so all I can say is please try to keep it short & sweet. Oh, & fill in this

:
Card Name:
Seller’s Name:
Exchange Method:
Offer:
Additional Comments:
I think that’s all more or less self-explanatory. If you’ve skipped straight to this part & don’t understand what an Exchange Method is, then please refer to the Seller’s section, but basically you just repeat what the seller has put under that heading.
To find out when the offer/bidding time for that card runs out, look at the seller’s country and then use
this to find out what the closing time is in your time zone (ending time is 11:59pm in the seller’s time zone on the day stated). You should make sure you’ve made your offer or final bid by then.
Once the closing date has passed, the seller will PM you to say whether you have been successful or not. If you’ve successfully bought the card, the seller will remind you of the agreed exchange amount, and the transaction can take place.
You must pay within five days of the closing date. To pay Gil, simply click ‘Gil’ under the name of the seller in their post and donate the agreed amount. If you are trading one of your own cards, please use the Trade Cards facility in the TT area. If you are paying Gil and trading a card then please donate the Gil
before initiating the card trade. If you do not receive your card within three days of payment, please inform a member of staff.
Happy trading!
