Mik, the Masamune was NOT Crono's sword, he didn't use the Masamune. The orphanage was being burned, but what if the Porre Military was attacking Guardia at the EXACT same time. We know Lynx is devious and takes advantage of situations, look at the way he used Karsh. Third, the burning pictures may have been placed in mind to make you think they are dead, while leading to a twist that may happen later in the series.

*SPOILERS FOR MANY GAMES AHEAD*
Square has a history of pulling stunts to make you believe somebody is dead, only for them to come back later. Only in cases where you watch them die, like Joseph and Cid in FF2, or Aerith from FF7 are ones you need to believe. Cases where characters come back later? Quina from FFIX, Seymour Guado from FFX, Delita from FFT (Let's not count Ramza, shall we?), Yang and Cid from FFIV, Kid from Chrono Cross (ironic that there was such a thing in the game we are speaking of, isn't there?) Cloud from FFVII, Squall from FFVIII, etc. Need I say more?

I'm not saying you are wrong Mik, I am just saying there is always the possibility that you are.

While the Masamune was Frog's weapon, it was in the present timeline when it was "lost", therefore, most likely in the arms of Chrono.

It would be nice if they would do a something to explain what was supposed to happen... even if they don't make the third game.

We could discuss possibilities forever.

Mik, if that is who Zeal meant, it was Dario, not Dalton. Anyway, Dario didn't take it because Garai found it before that, Radius killed him trying to protect himself from Garai when it happened. Lynx is probably the biggest possibility of who took it. Also, the ghosts of the chibi-characters, IMO, were only seen in Home World, which was the world where they didn't defeat Lavos. That would mean that there is still the chance they didn't die.
No, I meant Dalton. You see in an interview Kato said the Masamune was stolen by someone from Porre and Porre only won the war because they had "help from beyond the time line" and as we know Dalton left the time line to the Golem Pocket dimension. We know Crono is dead because Lucca said her best friend growing up had died in the war with Porre to Kid, in Radical Dreamers. Lucca was killed by Lynx. There is no way that the WHOLE Chrono Team died because we see(well hear) Robo die in Cross(he is the Prometheus Circuit). Frog can't die or it will ruin the time line and just the same with Ayla. As for the great Magus he is suppose to be Guile, but no one can think of how this is possible. Kid never died. Schala wouldn't allow it. That is what the astral amulet did for her.

like I said

The link didn't work.

Anyhow, the original idea for Radical Dreamers was for Guile to be Magus but they decided to not make it so in Chrono Cross.

Kid is Scala's clone, whom 10 years after the end of the game was the one that spoke to Surge and what not that started that adventure to save Scala.

At the end of Chrono Cross, kid becomes irrelevant because you are now looking for Scala, your "true love" I guess with the meaning.

As for the interviews... I haven't read the text of them. What I don't recall from the games, the info I get is mostly from wikipedia.

Well, yes and no. He is Guile in Cross but they decided with the amount of characters it would be too hard to explain so they left it out.

I actually you made this part up. Belthasar is the one who started every thing to save Schala. He tried even in Chrono Trigger, in the destroyed future. The time egg is for her.

Technically they are one. if you get the correct ending Kid and Schala fuse and you learn their true name. Schala "Kid" Zeal

I stand corrected.

Been ages since I played it and had read the info.

Mik

Edit:

Actually, here's the info I did read long ago that stated it like so... O.o

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masa_an...ble_characters
The part in refence to Shala

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Characters_of_Chrono_Cross
The part about Kid being a clone/daugher of Schala

I will have to replay the game sometime. '

Sorry Zeal, but the story in radical dreamers is irrelevant. They may have started going with that part, but as it was never stated in CC, I won't believe it. Besides, I heard Radical Dreamers was a fan-based story that Square decided to publish. Either way, until the series itself has proven it one way or the other, I will remain a skeptic.

What are you talking about? My last post had nothing to do with radical dreamers, and in CC we learn that Radical Dreamers is another dimension. And why haven't you gone to the site I told you about.

I was talking about this post. I hadn't posted for a few days, and by the time I had come back to post, you had posted twice, sorry if it was confusing. I went to the site you were talking about, but I don't have a lot of time to read it at the moment.

OH! But yeah he might not be dead.... anymore. We know he did die in home world, but another world is the real timeline and we know nothing of the team there. its quite possible Dalton, Lynx, and Porre conspired against Guardia and killed crono. But since Chrono Cross kinda cancels itself out and ignores Radical Dreamers we don't know anything about what happens to anyone. It has a very open ending.

If I remembered correctly, I hated the game and I don't even think the main character talked at all which really pissed me off. I stopped playing after the first or second disc.

Your suppose to be the main character and it is all from your perspective. Basically his personality is yours. In fact most choices are yours in the game.

Like the one before it, the main character is like old films, silent.

Basically you're just running around while everyone drags you from one area to the next, filling in holes in the plot while you make decisions that may and up doing good or bad for you in the long run.
