So my IT Coursework deadline is this Friday, right? So, like any good student would do, yesterday I put in extra hours to ensure that I get it all done and redo work which fell short of the top marks.
I was s'posed to have finished college at 3pm, but I figured rather than going home and doing work it'd be more beneficial to do so at college (as my IT tutor would be there for instant-feedback). So we finished at 7pm and I go home, ready to do some more coursework when all of a sudden my mother decides to berate me something chronic for "being home late" (bearing in mind I'm 18 and usually stay at college 'til about 4 or 5pm some days). These are the general points of the argument which followed:
- My mother thinks that I lied about getting work marked and redone, and insists that I must've been put in some kind of detention 'cos I didn't do any work at all beforehand.
- I argue against her accusations, but she's as stubborn as a mule.
- She makes a point of saying that I'm not allowed to stay behind at college anymore.
- She also makes a point of saying that I'm not allowed on the internet whatsoever (despite needing it for my coursework), to ensure that I get all of my work done.
Her ego is too large to notice the blatant contradiction in her statements and she believes that she's doing what's best for me... by keeping me away from resources that could help me get my work done and to the best standard before the deadline.
I don't even.
In better news, I got full marks in my English Language coursework
More or less guaranteed a C grade at A Level, even if I do really poorly in my exam.

So I found out today that my uni has the highest resolution display in the world. An array of 75 30" 2560x1600 displays, making a total of 38,400 x 8,000 pixels, or 307 Megapixels. I want one.

Could you imagine the power bill to run it though?

Yeah, the supercomputers at TACC (the group that operates that display) used up all of the available power at the research campus. Literally. They are now upgrading all of the lines for their next computer.

I'd love to just sit back and watch Game of Thrones on that display. Although I guess 1080p quality probably wouldn't suffice for a resolution that large... :l

Yeah, probably need a few more pixels to make that enjoyable Especially considering each individual display in the array has a resolution about 2x 1080p

Go the fuck to sleep... narrated by Samuel L Jackson.
I remember this being talked about, but now we can all hear it.

^ How so?
Urgh, why can't I say what I really feel? I've had a crush on this guy from work (Johnny) for a long long time now (ever since before I split up with Paul; it was my feelings and Paul's horrible jealous comments about him that was part of why I got rid of him) and all I do is blush, giggle like a schoolgirl and act like a klutz when he's around.
Stupid T. Stupid, stupid, stupid! *bangs head against wall*

Horrible incident at work last night. Fortunately I was nowhere near the place, but four drunk guys who had a hire car ran amok at the restaurant, and assaulted at least three of the staff. Horrible business, and it's been made worse by the fact that the area AND regional manager were visiting. Johnny also gave me my break obscenely early (Istill love him, though... ) which meant I worked 6+ hours straight! If I wasn't in love with him I would slap him!
I have decided against openly flirting witg him, in the interests of good business, but I was sorely tempted to pinch his a$$ on more than one occasion. :/ Stop it, woman!

And then go read Battle Royale.

England will lose. Again.
Gave blood earlier this morning. It was much better than last time, found a vein straight away.

Earlier, I saw that one of my fish had somehow jumped out of the fish tank and landed on the floor.. I didn't notice at first. When I did and looked closer, "O_O" was my reaction. I don't want to see something like that again.. =/ (I had seven fish, now I have six. Never wanted that many, but my brother got like five of them from the Fair last year.)
