TGV: Halo 4 Limited Edition detailed; no Legendary Edition

Today, 343 Industries posted the details on the coming special edition of their upcoming game Halo 4. What goodies come with it? Click below to find out.

This shiny edition of Halo 4 will come with the following:

• War Games Map Pack Access: This will include three map packs, each containing three maps each, a total of nine additional maps for multiplayer for you to frag your friends.

• Specializations: Buying the Limited Edition gives early unlocks to six Specializations in the game. We can expect details on Specializations at this year’s E3.

• UNSC Infinity Briefing Packet: This includes Spartan armor customization schematic, information about UNSC weapons, an introduction to the massive ship UNSC Infinity, and insight into what it means to be one of humanity’s finest warriors: The Spartan-IVs.

• Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn Special Edition: This is a 90-minute extended version of the live-action digital series, taking place at the beginning of the Human/Covenant war. It also includes additional bonus content related to the feature.

• Bonus digital content through Xbox LIVE: includes unique in-game Spartan-IV armor skin, unique in-game weapon skin for the Assault Rifle, an exclusive in-game emblem, Xbox LIVE Avatar prop, and Xbox LIVE Avatar Spartan IV armor set.

The Limited Edition will set you back $99.99 and will be released November 6th, 2012.

But what about those that have been saving up for the inevitable Legendary Edition? I’m afraid I have some bad news for you as 343 Industries stated, “We decided to focus our efforts on a single special edition instead of numerous ones so you wouldn’t have to pick and choose between what ancillary items you want.”

Will you miss having a new Legendary Edition? Frankly, I’m glad I won’t be tempted by another huge item that would probably end up just taking up space in my closet.
