When you find a suspicious looking button that could cause havoc you pause to find a save point before pressing it and spend several minutes looking for it, convinced that it would be either in your room, in the hall or on the patio. Then you remember that this is real life.
 I've actually done this when my family got a new bread maker and it was first thing in the morning. I spent ages doing that.
