How would you...?
My original idea was to ask a single question, but I thought it would be more fun to open it up to any and all (tasteful ) 'How would you...?' questions. The first, however, shall still be the question that inspired the thread, which is -
How would you... revive this forum?
Imagine this is your site and you have noticed a dip in activity, or that you have just taken over in order to turn things around, or even just that you have the ear of the man in charge; what would your suggestions be?
(Oh, and I felt that were at least almost an equal number of reasons to put this in 'Asylum' as there were to post it in 'Debates and Discussions', so I figured 'General' was safest )

By staging a massive UFF orgy, of course.
It's a logical progression.
Seriously though. It would be nice to have a way to draw everyone back... sadly, that ain't going to happen. So let's just keep populating "Ok, here we go" exclusively and laugh about the old times.
...before someone gets fatally injured.
I dunno. How would you eat a Banana?

With the skin on, Andy. With the skin on.
I dunno really. Obviously, with me being graphically inclined, I'd put up some fancy banners, do some lolcat caption contests and the like. In the end, there's not much we really can do anyway, so spamming Ok, Here We Go and any other Asylum threads seem like the way to go. :3

I think the main thing is that we need some new blood around here. While it's good to have our little tight-knit group, it would be nice to see some new names and whatnot.
Also, a bit more discussion outside of the Asylum - but again new blood is needed for that to be honest.

Problem with new blood is, it's because of how tight-knit we are. They most likely feel intimidated, and fear if they said anything, we'd shoot them down and continue alienating them from the group, simple as.
People need to have the balls to join in, have fun. I'd suggest campaigning around the net, trying to get our name out, showing what's on offer, and encouraging people to speak up. We were all new once.

I think, also, is that UFF seems kind of based more on the Classic FF games. I think if we advertised more of the new/upcoming games people are more likely to be like, "hoo mai gaw! I'm teh master at that game! *post*post*"
Maybe not. But you see what I'm saying. Although I think Phil did the best job in the world, but I think that's what people are seeing a little in this section.
I think the 'tight-knit' is kind of a problem like people said. Though how hard is it for some of us to be nice to someone and include them somehow in conversation? I mean, I think we've all seen it in some members how they started off as little newbie pricks and ended up being some really decent people.

Heh, reminds me of the IRC discussion with that Zelda website and its crowd.
I don't remember anyone getting along and we turned on them like dogs, It was quite humorous. Not that it wasn't entirely unwarranted, one of the few of them was quite inappropriate and this is even with Pat in the conversation.

Yes, elitist attitudes have never worked. Just sayin'.
Besides new blood I think it's just the sad fact that Final Fantasy is--gasp--getting old. That's a bit of a problem for a Final Fantasy board.. and we're certainly not excited about the new stuff they've been churning up. For the most part anyway. So yeah like Miko said we're actually kinda getting old.. the new wave of members/gamers mostly recognize the sparkly games.
So hmm I think I'd give it a new name, new face and a new mission--gaming in general. Bringing together all kinds of gamers. I think Alex had that in mind anyhow..
As for reviving a FF forum in particular, well, I really don't know. Poor baby.

My own thoughts align very much with the above, particularly the post directly above this one. I too have wondered whether the problem is that the Final Fantasy fervour has died down somewhat, as would naturally happen anyways but certainly wouldn't have been helped by the 5 year gap between X and XII. The only other Final Fantasy forum I visited at some time in my past has gone the same way.
Basically, I feel some kind of advertisement campaign and a revamp of the forums look and purpose would help, but perhaps not as much as those of us already here being more active would.
