The First FF on Xbox out now

Crystal Defenders is out now... it's a tower defense style game set in the tactics universe/ivalice.

Hmmm...seems to be a complicated - or rather - an advanced version of Capture The Flag. I may have to move some funds around to grab this one.

It's basically like... the dudes will come out of one side and are trying to make it to the other side of the screen. If they get there, they'll steal your crystals. You have to place down various FFTA characters and classes in an attempt to stop the monsters and evil guys.

Every monster will have strengths and weaknesses, so if you put down a shitload of mages and then something resistant or immune to magic comes up you're screwed. You also level up characters to make them more deadly, etc etc... it's good fun, well worth trying the demo.

It'll be hittting Wii Ware and PSN soon.

Finally downloaded and played the demo last night. It was good, it's just a pity that the demo wasn't longer. The How To made it sound incredibly complicated, but it wasn't.

I just hope that in the full version the Elementalists turn up. They were probably my favourite unit in FFTA.

Well, there's Final Fantasy XI, but.... I won't bring that up.

I played it for a little while on my brother's iPhone. It basically brings a barebones version of the Final Fantasy experience into the Tower Defense formula. You have to choose the right characters for the right situation, like using archers to take out airborne enemies and black mages to set targets that are farther away on fire. The only way to lose is by letting a certain number of enemies through your defenses. Otherwise, the game is pretty simple, and fun to play. I don't know if it was necessarily worth $10 since it is an acquired taste, but if you have always wanted to play Final Fantasy and all you have is an Xbox 360, and if you have points to burn, I say go ahead and give it a try.

Damn! Forgot about 11. 11 doesn't count anyway, etc etc!

But yeah... this is a pretty servicable tower defense game. gets pretty damn challenging too... I'm enjoying it. Sadly, it ain't got shit on Peggle.
