Site: Chrono Trigger content
Yeah, I know the game is old, but it's a huge part of Square's history, not to mention my personal favorite game... and I noticed that Chrono Cross is covered as well. It almost goes against all logic to not have Chrono Trigger covered.
They also re-released it for the DS recently, so if people were hoping to look up CT information it could draw more attention to the site.
Does this site have open content writing? I know the game like the back of my hand. Everything except maybe the MP costs of spells and certain weapon stats.
I would be willing to submit Chrono Trigger content if the site admin would be willing to expand and make an area for the game.
Here's hopin'

I've wanted a CT section for quite some time, so if you want to create some content I'll gladly get it added to the site and whatnot and fully credit you for it. It's one of Square's best games, and it's silly we have a section for Cross but not for Trigger!

You can bet that Square-Enix is reviewing the success of Chrono Trigger DS, as I heard that it has sold close to, if not over 1 million units worldwide. It may be a nice precursor to create a content area for the Chrono games overall (Radical Dreamers, anyone?).

I for one am annoyed at Square for not ever touching on it...
Sure they did FF Chronicles and added some anime scenes,
But releasing Chrono Trigger stand alone 10 years later as a portable game?
That was like a slap in the face.
Not to mention issuing a cease and desist letter to the boys (and girls) over at Chrono Resurrection. That project was MORE than a dream come true for me.
Hopefully, if the sales are as good as you said, they will once again realize the potential of the game and do good on their faults.
I'll start brushing up on the little CT things here and there, and any content I write will follow the rhythm of the site.

Same here about Chrono Trigger Resurrection (don't forget the Chrono Trigger Remake Project: http://www.chrono-trigger.com/). I am sort of hoping there is someone creating an underground project that will slowly leak out.

Oh, tell me about it dude. I even emailed the guy from CR and told him the same thing, that we're all hoping the project is continuing....
For an update on the Chrono Content if anyone cares, right now I'm playing through the game from the start and recording videos of all the tech's (and double+triple ones), boss and fight strategies, secrets (hints), and key story points... I'll host the videos on my mediafire to save bandwidth when it's time to put the content up... i could do youtube but i don't think it would have the same impact as a direct link.
about half the vids will make the chopping block, but i'm strangely excited about this.
LOL, I had your quote in this post but:

We've got bandwidth coming out of our ears, so it's no problem uploading them.

Surprisingly, bandwidth wasn't my concern. It was having to 'alley-oop' a large amount of files and coordinating which file would sync with the hint(secret) and/or strategy.
I've recorded all my boss fights and tech's so far. I'm hoping to include a cheats/hints section with an example video below each entry.
I still don't know how OR if I'm going to include the key story point videos, but my videos are properly compressed if we do end up with a large volume of in-game clips. i'm only about 10% done the game, I'm not exactly rushing it.

Hmm. What could be done is instead of having the videos as a download encoding them as a flash file (ala YouTube) then actually inserting them into your FAQ so people can press play ON the page and actually watch what they're reading about....

yeah, i'll make my youtube videos be able to have external embedding.
this is just an update to let you know i'm still dedicated and not disappearing
i like this forum a lot, the layout(s) are sweet and the people aren't d-bags so i won't abandon this place.
Also, if no one has noticed, when you highlight X-2 on the main page, it flickers the main menu instead if subbing the center image. thats the only bug i've noticed so far.
(but fuck x-2 am i right?)
My CT status, i'm doing the reptite lair, first prehistoric visit... about 30% done the game, and i have too many videos to count. the hardest part will be deciding which make the cut

You are right :p Though X-2 has a great battle system! I'll get that fixed a little bit later... it's just because the X2 image is missing from the directory, stupid me... forgot to upload it when I widened the site.
Like I said, we can easily encode and upload flash videos too if you like.. so they're actually on-server rather than just youtube videos. It's quite easy to do, and then you have more flexibility on quality and format than YouTube.

yeah, but quality doesn't matter too much on a 10 second video :p
some key story point videos are over a minute or two long, like Cyrus' story or the discovery of the planet's future from the computer... i'm recording nearly everything on my playthrough that I think will be of some value, but other than the techs, dual and triple techs, about 50% of the stuff will face the chopping block.
also, unrelated... but do you think it would increase traffic to create a forum with subforums for specific square games? i'm reminded of ffrepublic where they have one forum for retro FF's 1-6, PSX FF's 7-9, PS2 FF's X-XIII, and maybe even a misc forum for the chrono series, ff tactics, or kingdom hearts? right now its kinda unnecessary due to low traffic, but later on it might be a good idea if we get higher activity. just a side note..

It used to be like that, but as the site has moved more away from Final Fantasy and the traffic dwindled they were merged into one.

yeah it seems the FF community took a heavy blow and people just aren't interested. Either FFXII was really bad, or people simply don't care anymore.
I think RPGsite is a really good idea and will pick this place up big time.

I think it's a combination of things. On one hand you've got mainline FFs being released far, far apart now, with 2 or 3 or 4 years between games whereas FF7, 8 and 9 all released within a year of each other... and also Square have done so many remakes and spinoffs I think they've saturated the franchise a bit.
