Hmm, I feel I need to do some campaigning for the Tennant camp here! I definitely wouldn't have gotten into Dr. Who at all if it hadn't been for him., Christopher Eccleston left me cold. Maybe it's because I never watched the old ones, but for me Tennant will always be THE doctor.
Also is it just me that completely adores River Song? She should have her own show.
Sioux don't read the next bit, I've forgotten how to do spoiler tags! (Or anyone else who hasn't seen Series 2)
---------
I liked the last episode well enough, but I found it hard to concentrate because of one extremely geeky point. They fall "out of the universe", right? To another universe. Or a space between universes. Something to that effect anyway. So, doesn't that completely undo the awful emotional dilemma that surrounded Rose's permanent (well, semi-permanent) separation from the Doctor? You're not supposed to be able to travel between universes!
Maybe I just need to get out more?

Oh no, you see, this is perfectlty explained by the phrase 'wibbly wobbly timey wimey'.
Hah, nah but in seriousness there has always been some sort of ability to move between universes in the canon - ie. the Cardiff rift in Torchwood, the rift to the 'bubble' in the last episode. I remember that when Tennant landed in that alternate universe with Rose in Rise of the Cybermen, the TARDIS almost died because it feeds from energy in our universe as opposed to any other. Actually I don't remember as such, I watched it earlier by happy coincidence.
I think it was just a case of the particular rift to Rose's universe closing for good. I don't know, but I think that episode will be on 'Watch' in the next few days if you're interested

Am I the only one who cheered when they removed Rose from the series and then groaned when they brought her back for those few episodes?
I really did not like her and think her companion should have left when eccleston left.

Yes, I don't like Rose either. Not a huge fan of Martha too, though her character was pretty much wasted while the Doctor threw tantrums about Rose being gone.
Donna and Amy are great, though, and Rory is the best.

I got tired of Rose as I got tired of Tennant, who became a parody of himself towards the end, for which I blame T Davies in no small part. Its his fault we have arbitary rules that get inexplicably broken whenever the show feels like it, and to say timey wimey is just bad writing. Not always, but certainly sometimes.

Tennant so far has been a bit over the top at times but, at least has some of Eccleston's oddity.
The part that seems to be missing that I hope they bring back sometime in season 2 is the serious quality Eccleston brought to the Doctor seat. The moments where he astounds someone by dropping some Doctor Who level knowledge and thought about time, space, life and the universe(the first time I saw Eccleston do that was in the first episode which got me hooked on the concept of the Doctor talking to Rose). The emotional thought provoking well acted moments where you go "Holy cripes, this is a kids show?".
Though, my general problem with Who, again, being just the lack of simple self defense. The man is the Doctor...and all he does is push people, point his sonic screwdriver at people or pick up a large weapon and threatens whens his word fail him.
I know it is good that he is fallible but, at some point in all his years of living he didn't once get any tiny bit of training(It makes one wonder what happened during this time war)?
It depresses me so but, the writing and creativity of the show keeps bringing me back especially when the laugh is well deserved and well written lkike when the face of Boe disappears from that infected clinic at the beginning of season 2(That was enigmatic, right? Oh yeah, text book engimatic). Good stuff.
Plus, The Daleks are awesome. I loved the emperor. I plan on drawing him.
And I liked Rose. Bouncy and blonde and eager to learn about the universe but stays out of the way enough to let the Doctor do his stuff unless she ends up helping out in someway. I don't see the problem. Though, that might change if she pales in comparison to any of the new characters.
Also, Jack was cool and all but, he was so eccentric and out there it was a bit painful to listen to him deliver his lines sometimes. I don't know.

That was ridiculously great. Better than last week's (controversial, yeah yeah), better than the pirates, on a par with the opening two-parter. Fear Her guy is redeemed.
Got some very Impossible Planet vibes from it, I like those kind of stories.

That was bloody good. I had high hopes after Moffat kept bigging it up on Twitter, glad not to be disappointed.
"If I don't get to that cockerel in time all hell's going to break loose!" cheeky satisfied grin "I.. never thought I'd get to say that, again" Hah

I'd like to thank F for her advice on waiting with this new episode until today, as it would be hard to follow while hilariously drunk.
I did like Gaiman's episode more, but this definetly was good. Apparently Fear Her-guy CAN do something right.

I mostly enjoyed saturdays episode. It was hokum, but enjoyable hokum. The boss lady was a bit of a ludicrous villain though, with her bizzare insistence that they should keep working during a solar storm (also, a what? When is this set? I assume we're on earth here?), because apparently she loves her job more than her life. That said, the lovely self aware snarling her copy does to her was fantastic writing.

Came here to re-iterate the last two replies;
HOLY SHIT.
Now the theorising happens (SPOILARRRRS) when the fuck was the ganger made? ...as a side note, love the "We're not invited to this one" line. Sneeze and you would have missed it, potentially huge repercussions though.
Seriously, wow.

Yeah, I just didn't realise the implications of the Doctor and his ganger switching places until he said that.
Not only did Amy tell him about his death, he was the one getting furious and pinning her up against the wall... that's pretty scary.
