TGV: Sony rescinds earlier comments, Vita only supports one PSN account

Sony, what are you doing? First you said only one account per PlayStation Vita, then you said you could swap out the memory cards to rectify this, and now you’re going BACK to the “one account per console” story?

Come. On. Will you a) make up your minds, and b) make it convenient for future buyers?

Vita’s out in Japan this Saturday, the 17th of December, and in the US on February 22nd, 2012, but Sony is confirming that you will have to reset the hardware to factory settings in order to put another PSN account on there.
“[The] PSN account is tied to the hardware and the memory card, not just the card, which means that if a second person is using your Vita, it’s not just a case of switching out memory cards, it’s clearing out all of your saved data on the Vita itself when you do the factory reset.

In other words, PlayStation Vita is intended to be played by only one user.”

Well, isn’t that great.
