I like how Brock has the torso of a fifteen year old girl.
In other news,
I love my school, its full of the biggest game nerds but they have the skills and understanding of game creation to really talk about games beyond just "oh, it looked cool." We actually know not only how to make games but the work that goes into them and all the technical crap and terms.
We had the longest Final Fantasy conversation in my life this afternoon during lunch. I mean, it went on for hours and it got really heated at one point. It didn't help my martial arts teacher and I and his wife being there, all three of us rabid FF fans defending VIII, parts of VII, and Tactics with all our being(s).
So after several hours of arguing and discussion the final verdict is...FF VII is overrated but a fine piece of storytelling that deserves at least an honorable mention when FF is talked about (With the out pouring of compilation games and the movie, its going beyond just your normal cash cow, its grown a legacy even I have to admit is impressive albeit still a touch too overrated for my tastes at this point). Continuing, FF VI is awesome but gets a bit longwinded and anything after VI is a fine piece of storytelling, even FF VIII but minus XI which is just a "mindless" MMO or something like that.
Though, there was a massive disagreement about what the games are after VI. For some reason, a majority of them stated it was more of an action adventure series and had lost its RPG-ness after VI. I don't know what the hell they were talking about, it almost got to a point when my teacher and I were getting ready to start beating some of those blind FF VII lover types. Sure they backed up their love of the damn game but still, FF VII is by no means the best end all Final Fantasy game.

I was practically yelling that at one of them too. And he fit the bill for your standard american gamer basement dwelling fiend.
He had the low hanging gut, the gamer shirt, large glasses, cargo shorts and terrible asian-ish overshirt. It was like seeing a walking cliche.
And yes, he kept talking over people and claiming FFVII is the Final Fantasy title and anything else is crap apparantly. I wanted to just drive my elbow into his face so bad. My teacher and his wife chewed him out though, as I can't argue a point for shit so I was happy once my teacher's wife(gamer chick) got in his face once he said a touch too much.
She's one of those FF fans that goes all out on the series, every version of each game is in her collection and all that so she knows a thing or two. She cut him down nicely.
Everything from basic concept to final product was argued over and why FF VII isn't the best. Don't get me wrong its a very good game(contrary to how I've acted on it now and than around here over the last two years) and the story is beyond entertaining but it has a wide variety of issues, problems and criticisms as well that most people look beyond(mainly because they don't know the hard facts about game creation, polygon models, animation, text translations, texturing and lighting, digital painting, rendering, etc...).
One of the major points I argued in was Sephiroth, that game would not be nearly as much a cash cow, if at all, if that overrated bad guy and his bitch ass wasn't there. I think the only reason anyone kept him around was the cashcow potential, he's just a terribal character and only got worse once the movie and the compilation kicked in. Now that is what I was ready to fight over but alas my teacher stopped me. :/

LOL. I love having conversations like that, sometimes.
I agree with you, Sioux. I actually didn't like FF VII all that much. I told my boyfriend that Aeris with a whiney coward, and he just about tackled me in a shop (a gaming shop, mind you).
I much preferred FF VIII with it's story line and graphics. I mean, VII has a good storyline, but I thought it went for too long. It was a bit like LOTR. You get sick of it after a while.
In all honesty, I prefer the KH franchise, anyway.

These days FF VIII and Tactics are my top two, next comes XII and IX with VII coming up in fifth place. IV and X come next and the others in various places after them.
I haven't really gotten too far into VI to make a definite judgement yet so we'll see what happens in time.
I like the Kingdom Hearts line as well. Sadly, Nomura has already stated that it would be physically impossible to create a third game right now with all the developers working on FF VII compilation stuff and FF XIII and its offshoots.
Disney is all for it apparantly but you know Disney, they'll make anything into a cashcow.

I <3 Nomura.
There is one game I'm looking forward to. The World Ends With You looks really good. But I have to wait soooooo long for it to get to Oz.

Yeah, waiting for entertainments is tough.
Take blockbuster movie season for instance, this summer is full of movies I've been waiting to see for the longest time and I still have to wait another month. Its driving me insane.
One consolation is that next friday the Forgotten Kingdom comes out and its been a big thing with us in the Martial Arts club. My teacher and I have had conversations that go into the double digit hours about martial art movies so yeah, the waiting is awful. And apparantly, its going to be a big event at school as well as a big chunk of friends and I are going. It shall be a blast.

Jon, where's the golf when you need it? Time for a revival.
Too many games to play at once.
*EDIT*
And once again, DeviantART members remain fickle bastards.
Knock up a Prom Night wallpaper (not out of love for the film, but because it's the most visually stunning poster I've ever seen), and watch them fornicate.

I finally figured out why alternative bands suck so badly.
Their singers most of the time are terrible. I was just listening to Pearl Jam and the song sucked all up until the end where the guitar kicked up and did a decent ending and the singer just shut up. I was so surprised by that.
