New FFXI Content on the Way

AP | March 16, 2009

Square Enix have today announced that the first in a series of three 'add on scenarios' for the enduringly popular Final Fantasy XI will be released to the public on the 23rd March, a mere week away.

The add on is to be titled "A Crystalline Prophecy" and sees players have to cope with strange occurrences across the world of Vana'Diel caused by a giant Crystal hanging in the sky. The content will be available to all FFXI versions through the PlayOnline viewer for a one-time nominal fee.

This and the other two expansions have both been designed by a team led by Masato Kato, the designer responsible for the stories and scenarios of the core FFXI game and it's first expansion pack.

Add ons two and three, "A Moogle Kupo d’Etat – Evil in Small Doses" and "A Shantotto Ascension – The Legend Torn, Her Empire Born", will be released later this year.
