Here's the FF13 classes in English

AP | February 25, 2010

After a little bit of time with our review copy of the game, something occured to us - all the class names in FF13 are quite different from the Japanese release, and we thought fans might like to know the difference.

Here's how Square Enix have translated FF13's character classes, otherwise known as Optimas or Paradigms.

Attacker (ATK) has become Commando (COM). This role is your traditional 'Knight' class, boasting improved strength.

Blaster (BLA) has become Ravager (RAV). The Ravager exists solely to charge up the enemy Break gauge, which is known as Stagger in the West.

Defender (DEF) is now the Sentinel (SEN), and is still your protective buff class, designed to draw enemy attacks and also cast protective abilities on other party members.

The Enhancer (ENH) is now the Synergist (SYN), and provides magical support skills like Protect and Shell.

The Healer (HLR) isn't the White Mage, surprisingly, but is now the Medic (MED). What this class does is fairly self explanatory, keeping party members in perfect health.

Finally, the Jammer (JAM) has become the Saboteur (SAB), causing havok by piling negative status effects on the enemy.

Which names do you think are better? Let us know in the comments, and stick with us for the FF13 latest via our RSS Feed and Twitter.

FF13 will be out on March 9th, and if you're getting the game or the bundle we highly advise you get your preorders in! Amazon has the Xbox 360 version here and the Playstation 3 version here. Here's the link to preorder the Limited Edition Xbox 360 bundle, too.
