Nintendo and Square Enix have announced that Final Fantasy VI is now available on the Virtual Console for Wii.
Coming packaged as the original SNES Western release - meaning, yes, it's titled Final Fantasy III in-game - the release will set fans back 800 Wii Points.
The original game launched in October 1994, and being a Final Fantasy title has seen been remade or rereleased on PS1 and Game Boy Advance. The PS1 release has also been released as a download for the European and Japanese Playstation Network. A US release of that version is yet to be announced.
Here's Nintendo's official description of the game:
"Experience the fun of this extraordinary RPG franchise. Originally released as FINAL FANTASY III on the Super NES™ in North America, this game is in fact FINAL FANTASY VI from the main series chronology."
