Famitsu explains FF13 PS3/360 differences
December 9, 2009
The latest issue of Famitsu has caused a stir in the gaming community thanks to its
Final Fantasy XIII Review
, but hidden amongst the FF13 launch issue there was a tidbit of information regarding the two versions of the game in the West.
Explained with two bullet points under a heading titled "The difference between the 360 version and PS3 version," Square Enix notes that there is a difference in the video and audio compression in the two versions.
This goes along with previous speculation and the
box leak
, which suggested the PS3 version would be packing lossless audio and 1080p CGI cutscenes - which would struggle to fit on a DVD.
The final game ships on a two-layer Blu-Ray disc, while the 360 version will have several DVDs and require a disc change in a similar manner to the PS1 Final Fantasy games.
FF13 is out in Japan in eight days and is out in the West in March. If the waiting for you is too much you can
