FF11 Players to pay for Account Security, Bigger Inventory
April 1, 2009
Square Enix are to begin a service where Final Fantasy XI players can pay for an "Account Security Token" to protect their account from hackers online.
The Account Security Token is essentially a USB thumb drive that means an account cannot be accessed without the drive being first plugged in, preventing anyone but the rightful owner of the key from accessing the FF11 account.
In addition to this, players who purchase the Account Security Token will be given an exclusive in-game item that gives them access to 80 more inventory slots, giving them a significant advantage over other players, allowing them to carry more potions and equipment.
Fans aren't happy, but the item will prove a nice bonus for those wanting some extra account security.
The drive is available through the PlayOnline store beginning April 7, 2009 for $9.99.
