A sneak peak at the FF13 Strategy Guide

AP | February 20, 2010

We've just got our hands on a 28-page preview of the Final Fantasy XIII strategy guide, showing off the aesthetics and content of the official companion that will arrive alongside the game on March 9th.

The preview shows off several pages from different sections of the guide to show you what to expect, and we've uploaded them all for you all to check out below.

The guide is set to come in two different versions - a Limited Edition and a Standard Edition. Check out the images of the guide preview below!

The standard edition features the guide in paperback, but the special edition is in full hardback and is sequentially numbered - they're not printing many of them! Both the Special and Standard editions are Up for Preorder at Amazon.

FF13 will be out on March 9th, and if you're getting the game or the bundle we highly advise you get your preorders in! Amazon has the Xbox 360 version here and the Playstation 3 version here. Here's the link to preorder the Limited Edition Xbox 360 bundle, too.

This is the Mini Strategy Guide that comes with the game when you pre-order at GameStop. I'm surprised it has lots of details for a free guide. Worth it to pre-order.

All FF games are linear, even the ones with a overworld. I even dare to say that all jrpgs are linear, unlike Elder Scrolls, Fallout 3 and other wrpgs.

Let's face it, people hate on this game because it got ported.

Hey moron, Microsoft had nothing to do with how the game was made. Its SE.

I can see what your reasoning is, since its obvious from first glance your a PS3 Fanboy in the Console Wars.

Go out and get a life.

I do blame squareenix for trying to appeal to the western crowd, which in my opinion dumbed the game down in order to let people who haven't played RPGs before ,like final fantasy, understand them without getting lost because the westerns seem to be on a lower level of intelligence than the Japanese. yes an insult to the Americans who can't get through a game because they lack the required commonsense, and need their hand held the whole way through. Also it upsets me that they "wanted to make the game linear like an FPS in order to create a strong bond between the gamer and the characters through a series of dramatic events."... -.- because nobody got attached to Aerith, Rinoa, Tidus, Yuna, Squall, Cloud, Barret, Red XIII or any other nonlinear final fantasy game... dumb... oh and for the record i played FFVII and beat it when i was 5yrs of age. (oh and XII sucked, there was no emotional attachment to those characters for me or my brother).

Thanks Microsoft, for dumbing down this game to appeal to the Western crowd. Look how linear those maps are! FFS!

    Thanks!

Also, does anyone know which version EB Games/Gamestop is providing for us, when we pre-order the game?

I'm gonna assume the standard edition... :/
