Wada: Final Fantasy Versus XIII for 360 being "looked into"
May 18, 2010
Square Enix President Yoichi Wada may have just dropped a bombshell in the company's annual investor meeting, telling those all-important investors that an Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy Versus XIII was being considered.
Wada told investors that “We’ll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement.†That sounds promising.
Final Fantasy XIII began life as a Playstation 3 exclusive but was nabbed by Microsoft in what many consider one of the defining coups of this console generation. Final Fantasy XIII was released in the West on both consoles earlier this year, and sold handsomely on both, with the PS3 version selling the most but the 360 version shifting a considerable amount of units.
Despite Final Fantasy XIII heading to 360, Versus remained a PS3 exclusive, with the team saying that they wouldn't port it to the 360. Game director Tetsuya Nomura is a self-confessed Playstation brand fan.
